Sen. Jon Kyl has been fighting for the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act for almost ten years. He started his crusade around last 1998 when he proposed this gambling act. Kyl has been trying so hard to push the legislation through the Congress and has been making power play lately.

Internet Gambling Prohibition Act will not allow company to offer online gambling to U.S. citizens that is considered illegal. Sen. Jon Kyl advocates to this prohibition failed for several times but this did not stop him at all. In addition, he made another attempt and pushed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. This proposal will cut the funding for poker accounts if succeeds.

The Treasury Department has delay the UIGEA enforcement for about six months as announced last year. This announcement made Sen. Jon Kyl angry that made him push another strike by blocking the Treasury nominees in taking the office as part of his power play.

Kyl is the Senate minority whip and a second-ranking Republican in the Senate that has the power to prevent the voting to take place. Nominees that were appointed by President Obama to fill the vacancies in the tax policy and international finance are not yet fully approve due to Kyl’s power play.

It is going to be a political suicide for Kyl will stay longer in his attempt to push through the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act for it will affect the economic issued of the country without the Treasury nominees in position plus going against the rest of the Senate.
